Soheil Abadifard
Ph.D. student in Computer Science, Kansas State University
I am a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Kansas State University, focusing on artificial intelligence, machine learning, bioinformatics, and information retrieval. As a graduate research assistant, I build AI systems grounded in ontologies and knowledge graphs, with applications in bioinformatics, biomedicine, and food and agricultural informatics. I earned my M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Bilkent University, where my thesis was on classifying multi-class imbalanced data streams.
Research interests
- Data stream mining: ensemble learning for classification under concept drift and class imbalance.
- Knowledge graphs and ontologies: building, populating, and reasoning over semantic data.
- Applied machine learning: bioinformatics, agriculture, and environmental modeling.
